The Graff Archive Trust
The Graff Archive Trust was established in 2016 with four main goals:
- To serve as custodian of an historical archive, preserving and maintaining it for the benefit of present and future generations.
- To promote the education of the public in general, and particularly amongst students and academics, on the subject of Polish Armed Forces§ stationed in Scotland during the Second World War, and how the trauma of war, loss of homeland, family and friends impacted on their adapting to settlement in Scotland.
- To promote research for the public benefit in all aspects of that subject and to publish the useful results.
- To foster greater understanding between the peoples of Scotland and Poland.
-
§ In this context, ‘Polish Armed
Forces’, means the Polish Armed Forces in Great Britain (Polskie Siły Zbrojne w Wielkiej
Brytanii): military formations created in the UK in 1940 by an agreement between the allies.
